Privacy notice

For the release-news list. Last updated 05/10/2026.

Who is responsible

The controller is W.H. Zimmermann BONONO, trading as Hard Empathics. Contact: hello@hardempathics.com.

What we collect and why

If you subscribe, we keep your email address, the date you signed up and the date you confirmed. We use it for one purpose only: to tell you when Disciples of Hexis opens or the Companion or the book is released. Nothing else.

The legal basis is your consent (GDPR / UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We ask you to confirm by email before you are added (double opt-in).

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 7 days. To stop abuse of the form, a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address is kept for at most 24 hours. Our web host's standard server logs record IP addresses for security and keep them for 7 days.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your address. The list is stored, and the emails are sent, on a server we rent from our web host, DreamHost, LLC (United States), which acts only on our instructions. Your address is therefore held in the United States; the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (controller to processor), with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, in DreamHost's data processing addendum (dreamhost.com/legal/customer-data-processing-addendum).

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Fonts and video thumbnails are served from this site's server; YouTube is contacted only if you click a video.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email; this deletes your address. You can withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect emails already sent. You can also ask us to see, correct, restrict, export or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to hello@hardempathics.com. You may complain to a data protection authority, for example the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
